3DO Games
The 3DO heralded a new era of gaming. The ill fated set of consoles had a limited number of games but there were still some fine examples on offer.
A lot of 3DO games relied heavily on FMV (full motion video)
footage....some to disastrous effect. However if you are thinking of collecting 3DO games some of the acting in the games is so cheesey it is hilarious.
A full list of 3DO Games is available on Wikipedia, heres the link:-

The following are generally thought of as the best examples of 3DO Games:-
1. Need for speed - EA started this incredibly successful series on the 3DO.
This version was jaw dropping at the time. I've played it and I can confirm that it was well ahead of the competition. It was ported onto the PS1 but the 3DO version had more graphical polish and had a slicker feel to it.
I can enjoy playing this game now, which is rare because older racers just don't cut the mustard today.
2. Road Rash - Again this is by far the best version of Rash around. It is an essential purchase. You've just got to hope that someone brings Rash up to date on the PS3/360.
3.Wing Commander III. Origin/EA. A huge space epic. I feel that this is one of the finest space adventures ever made.
The game has superb battles and stars Mark Hamill in some decent FMV scenes.
4. Gex - Crystal Dynamics/Midway. Don't play this game on the PS1,N64,CD32 etc. Play it on the 3DO. An all time favourite 2D platformer.
It features the excellent Gex gekko. Why did this character dissapear? Better than Spyro the dragon and they keep resurrecting that purple waste of space.
5. Star Blade - Namco. This is a fantastic arcade port. Also released on PS1 and Mega CD. This version is the most faithful conversion!
6. Alone in the Dark - Interplay. With Alone 5 around the corner for PS3 and 360 this is where it all started. The first survival horror title. Without this there would be no Resident Evil.
7. Street Fighter 2 Turbo - Capcom. Thought to be the best console version. The most true arcade conversion.
