The first Western Hemisphere 32bit games console. It was beaten by the FM Towns Marty by 2 years in the East.

The CD32 is basically an Amiga 1200 in CD form. It offered very little in the way of original games so it was not an attractive buy for Amiga owners.

Ultimately, Commodore was not able to meet demand for new units because of component supply problems. The sales of the CD32 in Europe was not enough to save Commodore, and the bankruptcy of Commodore International in April 1994 caused the CD32 to be discontinued only months after its debut.

We have a CD32 at RH. It comes highly recommended as a Retro purchase as they are cheap to buy and there is plenty of software available for the machine at cheap prices.

It's also compatible with Amiga games with a disk drive attachment. You can add a keyboard to the console and turn it into an Amiga 1200. You can also play VCD's on the console.
