General Info:
Apple and successful Japanese toy maker Bandai teamed up in 1995 to deliver a next-gen video game console and their lack of experience showed. The system launched at a pricey $599, making it more expensive albeit less powerful than the competition. The platform failed to gain any traction, had an appallingly limited roster of games, and only sold 42,000 units before being discontinued in 1997. The combination of its ridiculously low sales and its feebleness in comparison to like consoles of the time helped the Pippin to make PC World's "Worst Tech Products of All-time,"Apple designed the console to be similar to the 3DO, in that they wanted to licence the technology to other Electronics giants. However the Pippin wasn't even close to being as good as the also ill feted 3DO. However, despite all of this the Pipin is a very sought after console with Uber collectors. They fetch serious money on Ebay when they do rarely surface. The last one RH saw sold for £660.
