Prototype Consoles 2
Wow, look at this fantastic prototype.
It is the Atari Spector. It's a three player holographic game.
The system had a holographic cylinder that dropped into the middle. It didn't have graphics as such but a series of LEDs that gave the illusion of 3D.
When you fired past your opponents shields your the led light would travel down the arm toward you. You would then score.
None of these are on the open market. It is not known whether a working model even exists.
Sticking with Atari the console below is the MIRAI. Not a great deal is known about this
console. One common explanation is that it was designed to be a NEO GEO AES for the States. This theory has been denied by SNK recently. Although SNK are a different company now owned by Playmore. So maybe it was a Neo Geo. At one point Atari were going to make the NES in the states. Could this be a U.S. NES design. So any ideas?
