It was considerably more powerful than the then-dominant Atari 2600, but came out right before the more-advanced Atari 5200 and the ColecoVision. The game library was composed 51 unique games and about 10 variations. The graphics quality is similar to those of the Intellivision and the Odyssey 2.
The Arcadia was not named after the company of the same name. Arcadia Corporation, manufacturer of the 2600 supercharger, was sued by Emerson for trademark infringement. Arcadia Corporation then changed its name to Starpath.

 Technical Specs:
The Arcadia is much smaller than its contemporary competitors and is powered by a standard 12-volt power supply so it can be used in a boat or a vehicle. This portability feature, however, requires a portable television, which was extremely rare in the early 1980s. It also has two outputs(or inputs) headphone jacks on the back of the unit, on the far left and far right sides.
The system came with two Intellivision-style control pads, but with a lighter touch on the side 'fire' buttons. The control pads have screw holes in their centers, so that one could transform them into a joystick, as with the later Sega Master System's controller. Most games came with mylar overlays which could be applied to the controllers. The console itself had five buttons: power, start, reset, option, and select.
There are at least three different types of cartridge case styles and artwork, with variations on each. Emerson-family carts come in two different lengths of black plastic cases; the short style is similar to Atari 2600 carts in overall size. This family uses a unique "sketch" type of picture label. MPT-03 family cart cases (see below) resemble Super NES carts in size and shape, except that they are molded in brown plastic. New machines were released almost monthly. In August 1982, Dragon Data joined the fray with the Dragon 32; the Dragon 64 followed a year later. The computers sold quite well initially and attracted the interest of several independent software developers, most notably Microdeal. A magazine, Dragon User also began publication shortly after the machine's launch.
In the private home computer market, where games were a significant driver, the Dragon suffered due to its graphical capabilities, which were inferior to other machines such as the Sinclair ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64.
The Dragon was also unable to display lower-case letters easily. Some more sophisticated applications synthesised them using high-resolution graphics modes (in the same way that user-defined characters would be designed for purely graphical applications such as games). Simpler programs just managed without lower case. This effectively locked it out of the then-blooming educational market.
As a result of these limitations, the Dragon was not a commercial success, and Dragon Data collapsed in June 1984.
Despite the demise of the parent company, Dragons still proved quite popular. Rob always had a love of gaming starting out with the Amiga A500. Rob does not profess to be a fountain of knowledge on consoles or an expert and has not had experience in the industry. But what he has got is a passion for consoles that has led him to create this site. Rob says

"I first started collecting consoles thanks to a section in a magazine called 'Retrogamer' that listed many different consoles, some I had never heard of before and it really got me thinking and interested in consoles on a level that I had not explored until that moment. Thanks to that section I now have a collection of over 28 consoles and handhelds and I am hoping to expand on that in years to come. I got interested in creating this site because I could not find a similar site out there, most sites were console specific or did not go in depth enough. I thought, how on earth can people collect these if they don't know about them..that's where I came in and decided to do something about it, I am not an expert but I hope that people will see what I am trying to do and become a part of it"

The 2nd in command on Retrohead is Paul Courtney known on the site as 'Paul the Elder'. He started on a Sinclair ZX81 and fondly remembers busting his fingers on the rigid keyboard. He claims that console collecting has become an obsession and that Retrohead is a great place for him to vent.
They have worked together for six years and the interest they share in consoles has meant that Retrohead could build on what it had started. The site was created on a website called 'Wetpaint' a site where Wikki's can be started up on any subject. (http://retrohead.wetpaint.com). The sites first homepage was no more than a large picture of multiple consoles and some brief words. In a week some links had been added to make it easier to find other sections of the site. By the beginning of March 2008 Retrohead had a more professional feel, the main picture had gone and the layout had improved sufficiently for the site to be promoted on the web. By 20th March 2008 Retrohead was given a Domain of its own, www.retrohead.co.uk. Within the first week Retrohead had its first outside member known as 'AriesNova'.

Where is Retrohead going?

Retrohead will remain regardless how successful or not it becomes. But how big it gets will be determined by how many members it gets. It will rely a lot on the input of other Retro console lovers. It will also depend on how much Wetpaint.com expands. Because of the restrictions on how Wetpaint operates, Retrohead will never truly be an independent site with its own unique look and feel. However Retrohead can at least have a large effect on its look and feel, if and when Wetpaint.com adds features. Wetpaint has always added and enhanced features to be used on its members websites/wikki's.

Retrohead hopes in the future to be able to add Java and HTML language to its pages to help with a more professional feel and look. It aims to be known across the web and across the world as a one stop shop for all console information. It aims to have itself featured in well known magazines and on websites. It aims to eventually have its own shop features without having to venture outside of Retrohead. It realy aims to be a professional outfit and one that people can relate to.

GX4000

 Distributor:Amstrad

 Manufacturer:Amstrad

 Released:
 Units Sold: 15,000 approx

RS: 6/3

 Expect to pay: 100GBP

 List of games available at:

 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amstrad_GX4000

 Best Fan Site:

 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amstrad_GX4000

General Info:

The GX4000 was Amstrad's short-lived attempt to enter the games console market.
